Since opening our first location in Taylor, TX, on November 6th, 2023 Guzman Automotive has quickly made a positive impact on the local community. Founded by James Guzman and his son, Joe, our family-run business brings together decades of automotive experience built on a foundation of integrity and excellent service. Our mission is simple: to deliver "Service as it should be," paying tribute to a time when personalized care was the norm.

Our Story

The Guzman family saw a change in the auto repair industry that did not sit well with them—personalized customer care was becoming a thing of the past. That’s why we started Guzman Automotive, with the goal of bringing back those old-school values of attentive and dependable service. For us, it’s never just about fixing cars; it’s about building genuine relationships with our customers.

James Guzman spent 16 years in the tech world before entering automotive care, and he brings a fresh perspective to the shop. His background has taught him a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and getting things done right, all of which are at the heart of our operation.

What sets us apart? Faster turnaround times and same-day diagnostics on most issues. While other shops might have you waiting weeks for simple services, we’re staffed and ready to get you back on the road without skipping a beat. At Guzman Automotive, community engagement is at the heart of what we do.

  • In Spring 2025, we partnered with Taylor High School’s CTE Program to support the next generation of skilled technicians. Our master diesel technician, Taylor Darst, volunteers weekly to lead the hands-on portion of the Diesel Technology program. That same semester, we proudly hired standout student Isaac Perez as an intern, recognizing his exceptional technical ability, initiative, and passion for the trade. We look forward to continuing this partnership and supporting workforce development through the school’s new CTE facility, and we hope to build similar relationships in future communities where Guzman Automotive expands.   • Guzman Automotive is also the preferred vendor for automotive service and repair for Taylor ISD and Thrall ISD vehicles.

  • We proudly sponsor local events such as the Bill Pickett Youth Rodeo, youth sports teams, and nonprofit organizations with a focus on supporting underprivileged youth. In addition, we donate all oil change services for vehicles used by the local Boys and Girls Club.

  • Our commitment to service extends beyond business. Both our founder and president serve on local boards and commissions that support the East Williamson County area.

  • And when neighbors are in need, our technicians step up. It’s not uncommon for them to donate labor and repairs free of charge to veterans, widows, and families facing hardship.

  • "I have used Guzman twice both times they nailed the problem. Previous mechanics weren’t even looking at the right place. My truck was shimming when i stopped so previous mechanics change the front rotate and pads wheel seal ball joints and it didn’t fix the problem. Recently I was hearing grinding brakes were going to the floor board. They immediately found the problem it was my rear brakes. It’s fixed had to replace everything, I was talking to the owner and told him i should have been bringing it in yearly for a p m. If I would have probably would have only replaced pads . My truck is 7 years old, if you have an older vehicle take it out there let them look at may save you some money. Very honest and courteous people."
